This will foster mutual trust between ourselves and with both the higher university administration and our key external partners.

Intentional CREATIVITY: Our vision requires that we continually strive for focused and innovative outcomes that represent significant evolution from best practices.

Internal SOLIDARITY: To face current and future challenges during its evolution, our Faculty needs to be a strong and unified organization, with complete cooperation between academic and administrative departments communicating and working together to fulfill our mission. Our collective goals (of vision and mission) should prevail above our individual interests.

We are also ultimately responsible to actively contribute, by engaging with all relevant stakeholders, to the quality of healthcare offered to our population.

Let us be inspired by our values to achieve our mission and journey towards our vision

The Faculty of Pharmacy at Kuwait University accepted its first class of 32 full-time students into the first year of the curriculum in September 1997. Today, after a preparatory year, the Faculty accepts 60-70 talented young women and men to complete the remaining six years of the entry-to-practice PharmD program (PharmD: undergraduate Doctor of Pharmacy degree). This new, innovative and competency-based curriculum was launched during the 2020-21 academic year. Our vision is to be recognized as an outstanding innovative leader in pharmacy education and research, contributing responsibly to the continuous improvement of pharmaceutical services and patient-centered care within our community. Our new curriculum is one of many examples showing we are committed to our vision.

The Faculty also offers a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in pharmaceutical sciences, with sub-specialty in pharmacology, pharmaceutical chemistry or pharmaceutics. Previous cohorts of students are continuing their studies in the Bachelor of Pharmacy, which is gradually being discontinued. Moreover, BPharm graduates (and pharmacists) can elect to continue for two more years and develop their clinical skills in the add-on Doctor of Pharmacy program (add-on PharmD). The Faculty relies on the dedicated teaching and research activities of competent academic staff structured in four skillfully led departments: pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmaceutics, pharmacology & therapeutics and pharmacy practice (which includes clinical pharmacy). The Faculty of pharmacy also relies on skilled and committed academic support staff, laboratory and research technicians, and support staff working in teams and in a friendly atmosphere.

Housed in the Health Sciences Center of Kuwait University in Jabriya, the Faculty of pharmacy has access to excellent teaching and research facilities and is constantly working to improve the student experience, both at the undergraduate and the postgraduate levels.
The Faculty of pharmacy, together with its dedicated student association, is very active and organizes several events, through its office of consultation, studies and training. It is very much attuned to the needs of its community and strives to be relevant in its long and short-term education programs.
